You are invited to attend a “Special Executive Committee (SEC)” meeting on the 28 th January 2012.
The purpose of the meeting is to convert the status of APSL from an Association to a Registered
Charity, we hereby give two weeks notice of the SEC.
.......”Pursuant to Article 8(ii) of the Constitution, NOTICE is hereby given to all Members of APSL to
meet by way of a special meeting at 15.00 pm on 28 January 2012 at the Sri Lankan High
Commission, London to consider the changes required by the Charity Commission of England &
Wales to convert the Association of Professional Sri Lankans to a registered Charity…….
The proposed change is to adopt a new Clause 2 (OBJECTIVES) to replace the current clause which the
Charity Commission has commented upon as being too large to be considered as a UK Charity. It is
further proposed to the Members of APSL that the position of Deputy Secretary be changed to
“Secretary – Membership” and the position of Assistant Treasurer be changed to “Deputy Treasurer”
to reflect the changing roles of those offices.”
